ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations Strengthened at High-Level Dialogue
The 7th High-Level Dialogue on “ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations” recently took place, with the objective of enhancing economic ties between ASEAN and Italy. The event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European House-Ambrosetti, and the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, commemorated 155 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Italy. Discussions during the dialogue mainly focused on improving the ASEAN-Italy supply chain, addressing climate change, and promoting inclusive growth through digitalization and innovation.
Thailand Advocates for Proactive Economic Diplomacy
Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, emphasized the significance of proactive economic diplomacy and the importance of forging strong partnerships for the mutual benefit of ASEAN and Italy’s business communities. Valentino Valentini, Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, highlighted Italy’s role as a crucial industrial ally in ASEAN’s steadily growing economic landscape.
Over 300 Stakeholders Attend Forum
More than 300 stakeholders, including policymakers, business leaders, and scholars from Thailand, Italy, and various ASEAN countries, participated in the dialogue. In addition to the discussions, the event also featured parallel activities such as business matching sessions and roundtable discussions, centered around boosting ASEAN-Italy investments through the financial sector and private capital.
