BANGKOK, 14 May 2019 (NNT) – The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) is responsible for the control of living costs and raising the pricing of farm products. The department this year celebrates its 77th anniversary. The department’s chief has stressed its proactive roles to solve problems before they arise.
The The Department of Internal Trade today held an event celebrating its 77th anniversary from its establishment on 5 May, at which delegates from agencies who helped contribute to the DIT’s success gathered and presented their accomplishments and objectives to promote fairness in Thailand’s internal trade, sufficient item supplies to help control living costs, and the solution towards low farm products pricing and the creation of more marketing opportunities for farmers through various market development campaigns.
The DIT Director General Wichai Pochanakit on this occasion delivered his remarks stressing the department’s working guidelines and proactive approach to address issues before problems arise, promoting trade fairness in all sides from farmers, to companies, and consumers, along with the use of technologies to improve work efficiency, the use of communication tools by traders and as decision making tools for consumers such as the disclosure of farm products pricing, in-stock oil palm quantity, medicine and medical services pricing, as required by recently introduced measures.
