BANGKOK, 24th July 2019 (NNT) – The food and beverage business was found to have required employees among job seekers nationwide during the first half of this year.
JobThai website founder and operations chief Saengduen Tangthamsathit disclosed that five sectors have required most employees during this year’s first half. Those included the food and beverage business which required 76,204 jobs for employees, partly due to the tourist fee exemption for visa on arrival.
The automotive and parts industry required 58,481 jobs, given promotional privileges under the Eastern Economic Corridor project. The service sector required 56,893 jobs due to the increased number of tourists. The construction sector required 49,631 jobs due to the increased demands for machinery and tools for use in the public sector’s construction projects. The retail business required 49,365 jobs due to the increased purchase volume of consumer products under the government’s economic stimulus measures.
Most job opportunities opened for sales representatives, accounting for 18.6%, followed by technicians accounting for 10.1%, quality control and manufacturing employees accounting for 7.1%, administrative and procurement employees accounting for 6.5% and engineers accounting for 5.8%. A total of job opportunities has amounted to 135,069 jobs monthly.
Administrative and procurement jobs were mostly applied by job seekers, accounting for 13.2%, followed by quality control and manufacturing jobs, accounting for 10.5%, sales representative jobs accounting for 8.1%, human resources jobs accounting for 7.1% and engineer jobs accounting for 6.4%.
