BANGKOK (NNT) – Registration for the third phase of the Finance Ministry’s co-payment scheme got underway this morning (June 14). People continued to register via the co-pay website, www.คนละครึ่ง.com, or the Pao Tang mobile application, gradually filling the 31-million quota. Many applicants say they woke up early in the morning to register their names.
Following the launch of the third-phase co-pay scheme today, people who had already signed up in the first and second phases were required to register again if they still wanted to use its privileges. After registration started at 6 a.m., a large number of people registered via the Pao Tang app. The app was temporarily unavailable due to high traffic. Users can now access the app as usual. People who register via the co-pay website will promptly receive a one-time password (OTP) on their mobile phones for verification.
The third phase of the co-pay scheme is open to 31 million eligible recipients. As of 10:30 a.m., some 19 million people had signed up, leaving about 12 million registrations available.
The scheme subsidizes half the amount of applicants’ general purchases of up to 150 baht per person per day. Applicants can enjoy the privilege for two rounds, with each round capped at 1,500 baht. The first round is from July 1 to September 30, and the second round is from October 1 to December 31. A text message will be sent to today’s registrants in three days for verification.
Vendors who previously joined the scheme are required to update the Pao Tang app to support the third phase. Many vendors say the process isn’t complicated, and added that the scheme had boosted their sales by 50 percent.
