The Thai government recently engaged in discussions with Honda executives to explore avenues to support electric vehicle production within the country. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin met with Toshio Kuwahara and Hideo Kawasaka, along with their team, to discuss potential collaboration and investment in the electric vehicle sector.

Honda’s Commitment and Gratitude

During the meeting, Prime Minister Srettha expressed gratitude to Japan for its continued support and highlighted the significant contributions made by Japanese companies, particularly Honda, to Thailand’s progress. In response, Honda reiterated its commitment to continue operations in Thailand and to actively support the government’s clean energy and electric vehicle policies.

Collaboration and Future Plans

The meeting also delved into discussions on Thai automotive industry policies, with the Prime Minister tasking relevant agencies to formulate measures that promote mutual benefits and cooperation throughout the supply chain. Prime Minister Srettha expressed confidence in achieving carbon neutrality goals and looks forward to further discussions during his upcoming visit to Japan to benefit both countries’ business communities.
