TAT claims Maha Songkran World Water Festival is a great success

The Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024, organized by TAT, attracted over 780,000 visitors and injected 2.8 billion baht into the economy, with positive feedback from attendees.

The Success of Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reports that the “Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024” held at Sanam Luang and Ratchadamnoen Avenue from April 11th to 15th was a tremendous success in terms of visitors and revenue. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted the five-day event, which featured entertainment, street food, and a parade, attracting over 780,000 visitors, including about 81,000 foreign tourists.

Positive Economic Impact and Visitor Feedback

The event injected approximately 2.8 billion baht into the economy, with 742 million baht in tax revenue. Most attendees learned about the festival through social media, word of mouth, or television. An opinion survey revealed that Thai visitors were impressed with the sound and light exhibition, while foreign visitors were impressed with the event facilities, parade, and selection of shops on site.
