The Cabinet Endorses Ministry of Energy’s Proposal
The Cabinet endorsed the Ministry of Energy’s proposal today, to maintain the electricity price for September through December at 4.18 baht/unit for households and businesses. Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga said, however, that smaller households, which use fewer than 300 units of power per month, will be charged 3.99 baht/unit.
Decision to Maintain Diesel Pump Price
The cabinet also decided to maintain the pump price of diesel at 33 baht/litre until the end of October, to the ease burden on the transport sector. Pirapan said that the Oil Fuel Fund will be used to manage the diesel price. Earlier, the Office of Energy Regulatory Commission had announced that the electricity prices for September through December would be increased to between 4.65 and 6.01 baht/unit, in line with the global price rise and depreciation of the baht currency.
