Commerce Ministry Suspends Rental Fees for Food Shops and Goods Stalls

The Commerce Ministry has announced the suspension of monthly rental fees for over 2,000 food shops and goods stalls for three months. This initiative is part of the government’s economic stimulus measures to support small businesses and individuals during these challenging times.

Commerce Ministry Encourages Other Ministries to Follow Suit

Minister Phumtham Wechayachai stated that 2,083 shops and stalls will benefit from this measure, and encouraged other ministries and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to implement similar initiatives. Additionally, the Commerce Ministry will organize markets nationwide to provide affordable products to local communities, starting on August 20. These efforts are in preparation for the upcoming “Digital Wallet” scheme planned for the fourth quarter of the year.
