KANCHANABURI (NNT) – Kanchanaburi’s Center for Agricultural Technology and Alternative Energy Development has been using blended energy to create careers. The Ministry of Energy now sees an opportunity to further develop it into a model community power plant.
The Agricultural Technology and Alternative Energy Development Center in Tha Makham subdistrict of Kanchanaburi is a natural agricultural learning center that uses blended energy in the production process. Solar energy, biomass energy, fossil fuels and energy from waste, are all used to power various activities within the center.
Energy Minister Sonthirat Sonthijirawong held discussions with Mrs. Thiwaphorn Srivorakun, the co-founder of the center, who initiated the concept of natural farming. He sees an opportunity to develop it into a model community power plant, which enables the community to participate in power production, consumption and distribution, in order to operate their businesses in the local area in a sustainable manner.
