Global Times: Chinese culture pursues 'not king, but jade'

0

BEIJING, Dec. 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Embracing more than 300 guests from around the world, the first Liangzhu Forum had its grand finale in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on Sunday.

Beside the main forum on Sunday, my journalistic experience of the event has been sweetened by two sub-events. The first one was crowded with 43 young sinologists from around the globe, while the second one embraced art creators from 83 countries to depict the "China" in their eyes. Sitting side by side with participants from countries such as Poland and Uganda, I was impressed to see overseas sinologists discuss Chinese subjects that were even too profound for locals to understand as well as view global artists’ deft paintings on traditional Chinese rice paper, known as xuanzhi. On Friday, the "Dialogue of Young Sinologists in the New Era" agenda was launched. Several topics covering a wide range of areas such as history, philosophy, sociology and media studies about China were discussed.

It was interesting to see that most of the experts’ opinions about China’s development were bundled with topics such as "history and modernity" and "archaeology and nature."

Those cross-fielded opinions alerted those in attendance that Chinese civilization has never been purely about "culture." Its evolution has been comprehensive to include all-round progresses, which is why German expert Hannes Wolfgang Reinhard said that "no text can thoroughly explain the complexity of China."

Filippo Costantini, an expert representing Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner country Costa Rica, told the Global Times that thanks to the BRI, Costa Rican locals who could "once only vaguely differentiate between China, Japan and South Korea" have now fallen in love with Chinese culture through co-published books and the China-Costa Rica research center.

"Our cooperation is inspiring and needed," Costantini said, adding that he believes ancient Chinese philosophy can still guide our lives today.

What makes overseas countries want to collaborate with China?

This was the question I pondered after hearing the speeches from the many sinologists in attendance. I was fortunate to be able to find the answer at the forum. It came from Adil Kaukenov, the chief researcher of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, who summed it up as "mutual trust." As an expert contributing to Kazakhstan’s strategic development, Kaukenov said that China and Kazakhstan’s similar cultures, such as their shared love for naan flatbread, bring the two countries emotionally closer. With China’s fast development, "China-Kazakhstan exchanges can even influence the entirety of Central Asia," he emphasized.

"Cultural exchange" may indeed sound abstract, but Albert Kozik, a young Polish sinologist studying Comparative Asian-Western history in Warsaw, said there are many young people who are falling in love with Chinese culture through digital channels.

At the venue, there were many visitors taking pictures with their phones. One young visitor from Thailand said that he had visited the nearby Liangzhu Museum and that the "likes" he got on X after posting his photos were "beyond my expectations." "I could not believe how incredible those jade wares were. I think the world needs to see the magic of China," the Thai visitor said.

Other than the sinologist forum, the event Silk Road Artists’ Rendezvous was the most impressive part of the entire Liangzhu agenda. The program offers international artists tours of Chinese cities like Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Huzhou, where local art teachers introduce traditional Chinese art forms like landscape paintings and calligraphy.

UBUNTUNGUMUNTU, a painting whose title means "I am, because we are" in Ugandan, attracted people’s attention during the tour. Ruganzu Bruno. T, the work’s artist, added an extra layer of "bark cloth," a type of tree bark indigenous to Uganda, to the painting to symbolize the tombs from the ancient Liangzhu culture. He said that art allowed him to see the connection between China and Africa.

"I’m overwhelmed by the whole Liangzhu legacy and cried when looking at Zao Wou-ki’s art. I guess that’s the power of sharing humanity," Kate, a painter from New Zealand, said when showing me a photo of her new silk work made by using Chinese brooms as a paint brush.

The "Liangzhu" in the "Liangzhu Forum" refers to China’s more than 5,000-year-old archaeological ruins that have become known for its jade culture. Jade, with its genteel sheen, symbolizes the humble and harmonious nature of Chinese people.

There is an interesting saying I grasped at the event to describe the Chinese cultural spirit: "Not a ‘king,’ just ‘jade.’" This is an analogy describing the Chinese people’s spirit of seeking harmony instead of hegemony.

Adhering to the motto “safety and high quality” and “always deliver sensible results”, Daiken Biomedical Q10-Natto Plus Red Yeast Rice Complex are strictly controlled with the highest specifications. Each ingredient is strictly selected from the world’s patented factories and is added to the maximum amount based on research from international literature. This product has been recognized by Monde Selection’s Gold Medal of the World Quality Evaluation in 2023, and the high-quality raw material formula has passed the strictest of standards of international experts. Its high-quality raw material formula, through the careful examination of international experts, has been recognized by the world’s elites.

Q10-Natto Plus Red Yeast Rice Complex are made of high-quality red yeast from Japan’s Kobayashi Pharmaceuticals. The capsules are made using three main ingredients; the highly effective Monacolin K strain of red yeast, which is rigorously sterilized and powdered, and is supported by clinical studies in Japan for 8 weeks of metabolism; Nattoki® Natto Enzyme Powder which has passed the U.S. NIH certification, and with the addition of KANEKA patented coenzyme Q10 from Japan. Each serving contains 15mg of Monacolin K, 5000FU of Natto Enzyme Powder, and 30mg of Q10, an internationally patented top-quality ingredient. This creates a full-fledged and sensational triple-action golden formula that enhances metabolism, maintains cardiovascular health, and effectively lowers blood lipids.

The Department of Health Announced That More Than 10,000 People Will Die of Cardiovascular Disease in 2022 Physicians Warn of These Three Effective Health Ingredients

According to the press release issued by the Hong Kong Department of Health in September 2023, there was a total of 10,665 deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases in Hong Kong in 2022. With the change in the fall and winter seasons, the temperature difference between day and night is significant and the temperature can drop abruptly. The occurrences of myocardial infarction will also increase, causing cardiovascular diseases to become more prevalent. In order to prevent cardiovascular diseases, more and more people are choosing to take natto red yeast in conjunction with maintaining a good diet and exercising.

Dr. Zhao Zihao informs us that the dosage of the product, the composition of the formula, and the way it is consumed will affect how bodies will react. Natto and red yeast need to be paired with Q10, which is explained in detail in the following three ingredients:

1. Thrombus killer “Nattokinase” is effective at 5000FU

Natto is made from boiled soybeans fermented with the natto bacteria. The protease produced after fermentation is “nattokinase“, which has been proven to help dissolve blood clots. Natto has been known as a natural remedy, being able to dissolve blood clots when consumed, and is several times more easily absorbed compared to thrombolytic agents. In addition, nattokinase also helps to lower blood pressure and reduce the incidence of atherosclerosis, therefore is invaluable in promoting cardiovascular health. However, natto has a unique odor that not everyone can accept, which is why natto healthcare products have become a convenient alternative for maintaining health.

The most important thing to look for when selecting natto products is to see if there is any indication of the amount of FU (Fibrinolytic Units) activity of nattokinase, rather than just indicating the amount of natto extract. “FU” is an activity unit defined by the Japanese Nattokinase Association for thrombolytic enzymes, the source of which is verified through the U.S. National Institutes of Health NIH, such as NATTOKI® nattokinase from Japan. Japanese NATTOKI Nattokinase has a high unit of kinase that has been quantified and passed various safety tests. The Nattokinase Association of Japan recommends a daily intake of 2,000 FU for general nutrition and up to 5,000 FU for cardiovascular health improvement.

2. Monacolin K is the key to making the High Cholesterol Savior “Red Yeast” effective
Red yeast is a ferment formed by the red yeast fungus growing on cooked rice bran. The ferment is rich in Monacolin K, which is scientifically proven to be able to help lower cholesterol and has been recognized as a gem in the healthcare industry. Lovastatin is similar in structure to Statin, a cholesterol-lowering drug, and helps to lower blood pressure, total cholesterol, and low-density cholesterol for cardiovascular protection.

However, different red yeast bacteria ferment different amounts of Monacolin K. Those looking to take better care of their body should choose red yeast products with high purity and quantitative Monacolin K. For example, the red yeast produced by Japan’s Kobayashi Pharmaceuticals has been clinically proven to promote metabolism by supplementing with 13-15mg of Monacolin K per day for 8 weeks. It is also important to note that red yeast is susceptible to producing citrinin during the fermentation process if the environmental conditions are not favorable, which can cause a health burden. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to whether or not there is an inspection report attached to the red yeast product in order to have peace of mind when ordering products that are both safe and effective in terms of health care.

3. The key to boosting metabolism is Q10 Supplements

Q10 is an important antioxidant produced in the body, which aids the production of energy and plays an important role in metabolism. However, the amount of Q10 in the body decreases with aging, and supplementation of Natto Red Yeast will also inhibit the synthesis of Q10, which leads to a decrease in the level of coenzyme in the body. Therefore, it is important to take a supplement of Q10 with Natto Red Yeast, ideally included in the formula. A calculated supplemental dose of 30 mg is recommended.

When choosing Q10 supplements, it is important to pay attention to the source of materials. Available on the market are high-quality fermented yeast with traces of tobacco, which has a significant difference. Currently, the world’s largest manufacturer of Q10 is patented by the Japanese factory KANEKA.

After learning how to choose red yeast natto supplements, Dr. Chiu also reminds consumers that when consuming red yeast natto, one should avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit at the same time, as this may affect metabolic function. In addition, pregnant women, children, and those who are taking anticoagulant drugs, lipid-lowering drugs, and antimicrobials should also consult a physician before taking this supplement.

The research team of Daiken Biomedical is composed of specialized doctors and medical experts in the biomedical fields from the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. These researchers stay true to the motto: “safety and high quality” and “always deliver sensible results”, while vigorously researching and developing products that keep consumers safe. Each year, over 1 million dollars are invested into quality assurance, with the composition being completely open and transparent while compliant with international standards. 8 products have been awarded the international Anti-Additive certificate, while 22 products have been awarded the Monde Selection Gold Medal Award for many years consecutively. Yili Group Invited to Share Its New Innovation Practices at the 20th Global Water Drinks Congress

0

PERTH, Scotland, Dec. 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — On November 27, the 20th Global Water Drinks Congress convened at Scotland’s Gleneagles. The three-day annual event, which is regarded as the highest level and most influential forum for the global water drinks industry, gathered world-leading innovators to celebrate the industry’s top achievements and explore the latest trends.

https://static.prnasia.com/pro/fec/jwplayer-7.12.1/jwplayer.js jwplayer.key=”3Fznr2BGJZtpwZmA+81lm048ks6+0NjLXyDdsO2YkfE=”   jwplayer(‘myplayer1’).setup({file: ‘https://mma.prnasia.com/media2/2292834/video.mp4’, image: ‘https://mma.prnasia.com/media2/2292834/video.mp4?p=medium’, autostart:’false’, stretching : ‘uniform’, width: ‘512’, height: ‘288’});

Yili Group was invited to present its insights on the region’s drinking water market as well as Yili’s efforts in the healthy food industry. Dr. Gerrit Smit, Managing Director of the Yili Innovation Center Europe, delivered a keynote speech titled "Meeting the New Demands of Chinese Consumers" and introduced the INIKIN Volcanic Mineral Water Series.

At the ceremony of the Global Water Drinks Awards, an intense contest attracting 155 entries worldwide, Yili’s INIKIN was a finalist in three categories, including its Brewed Tea for "Best Technology Innovation" and "Best Brand Extension" as well as its ink-free bottle for "Best Packaging/Label Design."

Find the best water sources

As consumers have become more aware of the importance of healthy drinking water, Yili launched China’s first bottled volcanic mineral water brand, INIKIN, in 2019.

Chosen carefully via site investigation of hundreds of water sources around the world, the INIKIN products are sourced from Arxan, a mountain region known as "Natural Oxygen Bar" which has a forest coverage rate of 95%, and the Changbai Mountains, one of the world’s top three natural mineral water sources.

After being filtered through layers of volcanic rocks, the water is rich in volcanic mineral elements. The unique geology also enables the water to have a natural, slight alkaline feature, a smooth mouthfeel and a hint of sweet taste.

Innovation of product portfolio

During his speech, Dr. Smit demonstrated to the audience how a bottle of natural mineral water was turned into a bottle of freshly made tea in three seconds.

The INIKIN Brewed Tea features a patented technique where the bottle cap separates freeze-dried tea powder from water, which is the first-of-its-kind in China. When unscrewing the cap, the tea powder housed in the cap will fall off and dissolve in water in just three seconds, making a fresh sugar-free tea drink. "As the product name indicates, the water tastes as fresh and delicious as if it has just been brewed by hand," Dr. Smit said.

After tasting Brewed Tea, Richard Hall, Chairman of Zenith Global and organizer of the Congress, said, "I’ve never tried this. It’s really a lovely idea. Congratulations on becoming a finalist in both Best Technology Innovation and Best Brand Extension."

Pursuit of sustainable development

The design of the INIKIN ink-free bottle aligns with Yili’s commitment to supporting the UN SDGs by protecting water sources and biodiversity.

The natural ecology of the local water source is home to more than 3,000 rare animals and plants, which have inspired the bottle design. Laser technology is used for engraving the labels on the bottle to reduce the use of ink and fossil fuel and facilitate the recycling of packages.

Clovis Thaumoux, Packaging Market Manager of Carbios, commended Yili’s sustainable development solution, saying, "The laser printing allows the product to avoid using labels and using less energy. Yili acts for the planet in reducing your carbon footprint. This is a technology that is transportable for all the market. The future is ahead."

The invite-only Elevandi Insights on 14 November attracted 1,500 participants and hosted 28 deep-dive roundtables focussed on charting a course for technology adoption in financial services in the year ahead. Key outcomes for each roundtable will be published by the first quarter of 2024[1].
