From November 7th to 9th, Longnan, a city in Jiangxi Province, hosted the prestigious 32nd World Hakka Conference. On November 7th (Tuesday), the Japan Poultry Association invited various media outlets, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and the Consul General of Japan in Hong Kong, Ambassador Okada, to participate in the “Tasting Event: New Japanese Egg Tart Creation”. The event showcased the limited-time products made with Japanese eggs.

To promote Japanese eggs, Mr. Hitoshi Asagi, the representative of the Japan Poultry Association (Managing Director), specially attended the event in Hong Kong. Mr. Asagi expressed his delight and gratitude for the successful execution of the event. He hoped that this opportunity would allow Hong Kong people to experience the unique and safe culture of consuming raw Japanese eggs. During the event, he introduced the characteristics and rigorous production processes of Japanese eggs, aiming to deepen Hong Kong people’s understanding and trust in Japanese eggs. Mr. Asagi also mentioned that they would continue and further promote Japanese eggs in Hong Kong, with the goal of achieving a steady growth in export volume each year.

The limited-time dishes received positive feedback during the event. In addition to evaluating the taste, aroma, and appearance of the food, the guests also expressed their trust and confidence in the preparation of semi-cooked dishes made with Japanese eggs. During the Q&A session, the guests actively raised questions, including inquiries about consuming raw Japanese eggs in Hong Kong. In response, Mr. Yasuyoshi Sankai, the representative of JA Zen-Noh Egg Corporation (Section Chief), explained that due to the transportation time, most Japanese eggs available in the Hong Kong market have exceeded the recommended period for raw consumption. Some Japanese egg packages are labeled as “for heating” and it is not recommended for consumers to consume them raw for safety reasons. As for a small portion of Japanese eggs labeled as “for raw consumption,” they are transported by air with shorter transportation time, allowing them to be safely consumed within the specified raw consumption period indicated on the packaging.

The production process of Japanese eggs is highly regarded internationally due to strict monitoring and management from production to delivery, ensuring safety and health for consumers to enjoy with peace of mind. Before the eggs are sent to the GP center for multiple inspections, the young chickens receive vaccinations to prevent infectious diseases and undergo regular testing for Salmonella to ensure the collection of healthy eggs. Once the eggs arrive at the GP center, they undergo automated inspection, packaging, and production processes. The temperature is strictly controlled in the facility to prevent egg spoilage, and multiple inspection procedures are carried out to eliminate poor-quality eggs with inferior appearance, pale color, or blood spots. These measures contribute to the trustworthiness of Japanese eggs in the market.

Furthermore, there is a rumor that eggs with the “TAMAGO Japan Egg” certification logo can be consumed raw, but this is not entirely true. Fresh Japanese eggs have an optimal consumption period within 20 days after packaging, and the effective consumption period is generally 60 days. If one wishes to consume raw eggs, they should deduct 40 days from the effective consumption period. However, since most Japanese eggs are transported by slower shipping methods, the Japanese eggs available in Hong Kong may have already exceeded the recommended period for raw consumption. Additionally, the “TAMAGO Japan Egg” certification logo represents compliance with three certifications: the Japan Egg Association, the Japan Food Safety Verification Organization, and the hygiene management standards of the GP center for export. It does not specifically indicate suitability for raw consumption.

Ranou (蘭王) eggs are produced in the city of Kitsuki, Oita Prefecture, which boasts abundant natural resources. The production of Ranou eggs adheres to the food hygiene management standards of “HACCP” and utilizes a special natural feed formula that emphasizes plant protein for feeding the hens. The vibrant orange yolk (Ranou eggs have the darkest hue at 15 degrees) concentrates the aroma and freshness of the eggs, making them visually appealing.

TCT 2023: The Efficacy and Safety of the SMART Trial Presented by World Renowned Expert

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — On October 26, 2023, SyMap Medical invited Professor Felix Mahfoud, Vice-Chair of the Working Group Interventional Hypertension Treatment of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and a distinguished authority in the renal denervation (RDN) field, to jointly present the 6 month pivotal trial results of renal mapping/selective RDN (msRDN) from the SMART Study (Sympathetic Mapping/Ablation of Renal nerves to Treat hypertension) at the TCT 2023 conference in San Francisco, California, U.S. There were presentations from Medtronic, Recor, and Ablative Solution in the same section.

The joint SMART Study Investigators-Felix Mahfoud presentation attracted substantial interest and admiration from the audience at the conference. The SMART Study was the first randomized, prospective, multicenter, single-blind, sham-controlled trial to investigate the safety and efficacy of msRDN in patients with uncontrolled hypertension directed at answering the question of whether antihypertensive drug burden was reduced while office systolic blood pressure was controlled to target level (<140mmHg).

The SMART Study enrolled 220 patients with uncontrolled hypertension at a 1:1 ratio into msRDN and Sham groups between November 2016 and February 2022. The study combined two efficacy endpoints at 6-months: The control rate of patients with office systolic blood pressure (OSBP)＜140mmHg (non-inferior outcome) and the change in the composite index of antihypertensive drugs (Drug Burden) in treatment versus Sham group (superior outcome).

RDN site was selected following demonstrations of increased SBP (＞5mmHg, hot spot) by intra-renal artery (RA) electrical stimulation using a novel renal stimulation, mapping/ablation system (SyMap Medical Ltd, Suzhou, China). In the left RA and right main RA, mapped sites were 8.2±3.0 and 8.0±2.7 respectively, and hot/ablated sites were 3.7±1.4 and 4.0±1.6, respectively. At 6 month, the Control Rate of office systolic blood pressure was comparable between RDN and Sham group (95.4% vs 92.8%, p=0.429), and achieved non-inferiority margin -10% (2.69%; 95% CI -4.11%, 9.83%, p＜0.001 for non-inferiority); the change in Drug Index was significantly lower in RDN group (4.37±6.65 vs 7.61±10.31, p=0.010) and superior to Sham group (-3.25; 95% CI -5.56, -0.94, p=0.003), indicating msRDN patients need significantly fewer drugs to control OSBP＜140mmHg. The study also met primary safety endpoints. The results demonstrated the safety and efficacy of renal msRDN to treat uncontrolled hypertension via only four ablations on each side of the renal main artery.

Both the academic and industrial communities are eagerly waiting for the therapy’s approval by the U.S. FDA and the incorporation of RDN therapy into the clinical practice to treat hypertension. Given this context, RDN was one of the central themes and most hotly pursued topics during the TCT conference this year. There were six RDN sessions addressing various aspects, including evidence from basic research, clinical trials, training for operators, procedural workflows, patient selection, perioperative management, interdisciplinary referrals, the establishment of RDN/hypertension centers, and prospective developments. It became apparent that RDN, as a therapy to treat uncontrolled hypertension getting into clinical practices, has emerged on the horizon.

Efficient Liquid Cooling Solution, PUE ≤1.04 in Data Centers

TCT is working to demonstrate liquid-cooling solutions. The Liquid-Cooled Cabinet is compatible with 19" and 21" servers, with rack manifold adaptable for 1U/2U/4U servers, embedded 4~6 U CDU or centralized CDU, passive or active type RDHx included. As a whole, this cooling system achieves a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.04 and reduces the total cost of Ownership (TCO).

Cutting-Edge Cooling Technology for Different Applications

TCT will showcase CDU, quick disconnect, cold plate, 3DVC, manifold, RDHx, TTV, leakage sensor, and coolant during SC23 at booth #907, among its plate-cooled liquid cooling systems, immersion liquid cooling systems, and phase-change liquid cooling systems’ technologies and products.

By immersing servers and components in a specialized cooling medium, it eliminates the constraints of traditional air-based cooling. This results in significantly improved thermal efficiency, enabling data centers to handle high-performance workloads with ease. Furthermore, the reduced energy consumption and carbon footprint contribute to the sustainability goals of data centers.

The original intention of the development of cold plate cooling technology was to avoid direct contact between the coolant and the server. This technology focuses on the precise cooling of components. Cold plate units are tightly attached to the CPU and memory sides. The heat of the chip is transferred to the fluid（coolant） inside the plate, and the fluid is the medium that takes away the main heat of the server. TCT provides three series of coolants: FM-CU formulated coolants for copper cold plate systems, FM-AL formulated coolants for aluminum cold plates with initial conductivity generally less than 550 μ S/cm, and a universal DI series pure water coolant with an initial conductivity of less than 10 μ S/cm.

As liquid cooling steadily advances in use and sophistication, system suppliers are increasingly focusing on purpose-built liquid cooling products and components for the worldwide HPC market. One of the most commonly used critical components in liquid-cooled data centers today is the quick disconnect (QD). As a key fluid management component, these QDs have the function of disconnecting and self-sealing, enabling online server plugging and maintenance without the need to shut down the liquid cooling system. For ease of installation, the QD designed by TCT can be single hand operated. SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — SeekIn Inc., a leader in blood-based pan-cancer early detection and monitoring technology, today announced the validation studies consisting of one retrospective cohort and one prospective cohort that evaluate SeekInCare’s ability to detect cancer patients and predict the tissue of origin with one tube of blood. The results demonstrate the performance of SeekInCare with the consistent results among the two cohorts in ~2,400 cancer patients and non-cancer individuals. SeekInCare achieved overall 65.5% sensitivity at 97.9% specificity in the retrospective studies and 60.0% sensitivity at 96.1% specificity in the prospective cohort study, respectively, which is best-in-class in blood-based multi-cancer early detection (MCED). The findings were presented at the 20th ICGC Workshop and 7th ARGO Meeting in New York.

"Recent studies have demonstrated that blood-based multi-cancer early detection approaches may hold promise for identifying asymptomatic cancer patients from general population. However, most studies only exploit a single aspect of cancer hallmarks, which is challenging to achieve highly sensitive results because cancer is a heterogenous disease," said Mao Mao, MD, PhD, Founder and CEO of SeekIn. "For example, our OncoSeek test for multi-cancer early detection was designed with seven protein tumor markers. With the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI), the sensitivity of OncoSeek was 51.7% at 92.9% specificity. While OncoSeek significantly reduced false positive rates comparing with traditional methods, we believe sensitivity can be further improved when more omics data are included. And this is how SeekInCare was conceived."

SeekInCare was developed using proprietary AI- and big data-driven algorithm to distinguish cancer patients from non-cancer individuals by calculating cancer risk score (CRS) incorporating copy number aberrations (CNAs), fragment size (FS), end motifs and oncogenic viruses via shallow whole genome sequencing (sWGS) from cell-free DNA (cfDNA), and seven plasma tumor markers (PTMs), and to predict the possible affected tissue of origin (TOO) for those who have been detected with cancer signals in blood. SeekInCare’s performance was well-demonstrated by the overall 65.5% sensitivity at 97.9% specificity in the retrospective study and 60.0% sensitivity at 96.1% specificity in the prospective study. A critical attribute of a blood-based multi-cancer detection test is the ability to localize the TOO to direct the diagnostic workup. The overall accuracy of two most possible organs SeekInCare achieved was 85.4%, improved by 20.0% from OncoSeek.
