A three-day event at the National Museum of Indian Cinema promotes Thai soft power, attracting Indian filmmakers with cash rebates and showcasing Thailand’s filming potential.
The three-day event begins Thursday at the National Museum of Indian Cinema. Organized in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate General and other agencies, the festival aims to promote Thai soft power and attract Indian film studios to Thailand for shoots.
Jaturon Phakdeewanit, the director-general of the Department of Information, highlighted the Indian film market’s potential, noting that Thailand hosted 35 Indian film productions in the first eight months of 2024, generating over 265 million baht in investment.
To incentivize filmmakers, Thailand is offering cash rebates of 15-20%, which will encourage more studios to choose Thailand for filming. This initiative promises to create jobs and income while showcasing the country’s stunning locations.
