The Southeast Brigade foiled a cattle smuggling operation, intercepting a lorry with 13 undocumented cows worth RM107,270. Two suspects were detained for further investigation.
KOTA BHARU: The Southeast Brigade of the General Operations Force (PGA) thwarted a cattle smuggling operation in Kampung Bukit Tandak, near Pasir Mas, by intercepting a lorry carrying 13 cows. This operation occurred yesterday during routine patrols.
Commander SAC Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid noted that these cows, weighing 7,000 kilograms, likely originated from Thailand and are valued at approximately RM107,270. The lorry was being driven by two suspicious males aged 22 and 42.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered the undocumented cows inside the lorry. The suspects have been detained, and the case is being handled at the Rantau Panjang police station under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953.
