On November 22, 2024, Thai officials met with Estonian diplomats to discuss cybersecurity, e-Government cooperation, and invited Thailand to the 2025 e-Governance Conference in Tallinn.
On November 22, 2024, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, Thailand’s Ambassador to Finland, led a Thai delegation to Estonia. They engaged with Mr. Tanel Sepp and Ms. Nele Leosk, Estonia’s Ambassadors for Cyber Diplomacy and Digital Affairs, respectively, to discuss cybersecurity and digital diplomacy.
The meeting focused on the Foreign Ministry’s role in promoting these areas, with discussions on enhancing cooperation in e-Government initiatives. Thailand, having implemented the Cybersecurity Act B.E. 2562 (2019), expressed interest in Estonia’s expertise in preventing cyberattacks, particularly through the Locked Shields Exercise.
Additionally, the delegation visited the e-Governance Academy, which develops a Citizen-Centric e-Government system. This system ensures transparency in government data access. Estonia proposed Thailand’s participation in the e-Governance Conference 2025, themed “From Bytes to Benefits: Raising Prosperity Through Digital Transformation,” set for May 28-29, 2025, in Tallinn.
