On January 5, 2025, the Vietnamese football team triumphed over Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup final, securing a 5-3 aggregate victory. The match took place at Rajamangala Stadium, where Vietnamese striker Tuan Hai opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a remarkable goal.

Despite Vietnam’s early lead, Thailand quickly equalized with Ben Davis’s long-range shot, followed by Supachok’s goal that put them ahead 2-1. The situation worsened for Vietnam when Xuan Son was injured and had to exit the game on a stretcher.

However, the momentum shifted when Thailand’s Weerathep received a red card in the 75th minute. Vietnam capitalized on this opportunity, with Pansa Hemviboon scoring to equalize at 2-2. In a dramatic finish, Hai Long netted the winning goal in the 90+19 minute, sealing Vietnam’s victory.
