SET Hackathon 2023 announces winners presenting ESG data for the Thai capital market development

Abstract

The Stock Exchange of Thailand organized its first-ever hackathon open to the public with a focus on sustainable investing. ESG EZ Invest team won the first prize for their sustainable investing application. A total of four awards were granted to outstanding solutions. The competition aimed to promote the use of SET’s database on ESG to foster innovations that enhance investors and Thai listed companies towards sustainable growth.


SET Hackathon 2023: Promoting Sustainable Growth

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) launched its first-ever hackathon open to the general public, themed Wealth and Sustainability. Participants presented ideas for utilizing SET’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) database to benefit investors and listed companies, integrating it into the analysis and development of sustainable business operations. The ESG EZ Invest team won the first prize with their idea for an application based on SET ESG data platform for improved access to sustainable investing.

Promoting the Use of ESG Data for Sustainable Development

SET Senior Executive Vice President Soraphol Tulayasathien highlighted the competition’s aim to foster innovations that enhance investors and Thai listed companies towards sustainable growth. A total of 69 diverse teams were involved, with 12 making it to the final round of pitches. The competition aimed to help Thai investors and listed companies leverage ESG data for sustainable growth, culminating in diverse and creative ideas. The award-winning ideas will be further developed for the sustainable development of the Thai capital market.
