NBTC provides compensation to three digital TV channels

BANGKOK, 16th August 2019 (NNT) – The National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission, has made compensation payments to three digital TV channels which terminated their broadcasting at midnight last night.

NBTC Secretary General Thakorn Tanthasit, said today the agency had now provided compensation to the three digital TV channels combinedly amounting to 1.02 billion baht. Spring 26 or NOW was entitled to a net payment of 341.19 million baht. Spring News Television Channel 19 was entitled to a net payment of 405.83 million baht. Bright TV 20 was entitled to a net payment of 273.41 million baht. All three digital TV channels terminated their broadcasts at midnight.

Meanwhile, four other digital TV channels have also returned their operating licenses including Voice TV 21, MCOT 14 or MCOT Kids & Family, BEC Multimedia 28 or 3SD and BEC Multimedia 13 or 3 Family. The NBTC will proceed to make compensation payments in a fashion similar to those made to the first three shuttered channels.
