BANGKOK(NNT) – The Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, together with Siriraj Hospital’s nursing division, and Siriraj Nurses’ Alumni Association, have organized an international academic conference on the suppression and prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The Chairman of Mahidol University, Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn officiated at the N-nergizing Nursing Profession for NCD Challenges or N3 Nursing Conference, which is taking place from today until 10th January at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok.
At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University Yajai Sitthimongkol, said regarding the current situation with non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and stroke, that these diseases are a growing issue faced by the global community, creating a challenge for the nursing profession to provide patient care and support, as well as promoting healthier lifestyles among patients.
The N3 Nursing Conference is aimed at promoing an exchange of knowledge to strengthen and increase healthcare effectiveness, and create domestic and international cooperation to tackle these non-communicable diseases. It features lectures and workshops from field experts across the globe, and presentations of some 100 research projects.
This conference is co-organized by the World Health Organization and other hospitals, educational institutions, and health agencies from around the world. The conference is being attended by some 570 participants from 18 countries.
