CICM and Central Lab Thai sign MOU to develop marijuana and hemp testing

BANGKOK (NNT) – Chulabhorn International College of Medicine, Thammasat University (CICM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Central Laboratory (Thailand) Co. Ltd. (Central Lab Thai) to develop the means of testing both THC and CBD for the purpose of supporting the commercial sale of marijuana and hemp, both domestically and internationally.

Central Lab Thai is to develop analysis and production processes to bring marijuana and hemp products to market with the main focus being to develop an experimentation laboratory capable of evaluating such products, so as to benefit the farming sector. It will also take part in training programs for staff and support students conducting research.

Chulabhorn International College of Medicine will support Central Lab Thai in its endeavors and provide it with scientific and technological know-how on the growing, extraction and processing of the two plants, while also guiding it on adding value to marijuana and hemp for the benefit of community enterprises, farmers, the business sector and society as a whole. It will also work to enhance regional economies in Thailand through the use of the two plants for medicine, as well as commercial and tourism purposes.
