NRCT announces Future Thailand research scope

BANGKOK (NNT) – The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) has announced its direction in research programs looking into Thailand’s situation in 20 years, giving policymakers information they need to make decisions affecting both the government and private sectors.

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and 10 research institutes have held an online seminar on the theme Future Thailand – success from research and innovation for Thailand’s future.

The NRCT has revealed the new direction for research projects to focus on Thailand’s future over the next 20 years, in line with the national strategy.

The new research direction is divided by a 5-year interval, covering 10 key aspects such as social structure, education, politics, environment, energy, public health, and remedies, as well as the effects of COVID-19.

The NRCT Executive Director Wiparat De-ong, said today the new research direction will be beneficial for the country, providing useful data for the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council to apply in their their policymaking decisions.

Designed to connect with the 12th and 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan, Ms Wiparat said data from the research would help fuel Thailand’s development and changes.
