The Digital Economy and Society Ministry and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency of Thailand are partnering with AstraZeneca (Thailand) to advance digital healthcare solutions in the country. The collaboration aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology for early detection of lung cancer, with plans to expand to other cancer screenings. This initiative addresses challenges faced by Thailand’s public healthcare system, such as a shortage of medical personnel, an aging population, and the recent pandemic. By leveraging AI, the government intends to make healthcare services more accessible and affordable, particularly in remote areas. The partnership not only strengthens Thailand’s public health system but also promotes the adoption of AI for early cancer screening.
