Statkraft, Europe's largest producer of renewable energy, has partnered with Aker Horizons on a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia project in Narvik, Norway. The project aims to have a capacity of up to 600 MW and produce 1,000-1,500 tonnes of green ammonia per day. The project plans to reach a final investment decision in 2025 and start commercial operations in 2028. The companies will develop the project together and establish a jointly owned company, Narvik Green Ammonia DA. The project also aims to collaborate with possible offtakers in Norway, particularly within the maritime industry.
