The ‘Spotlight Ko Tao 2023’ fam trip intended to raise awareness primarily among the Millennials sector, Voluntourism sector, divers, and groups of tourists that value environmental responsibility. The ultimate goal was to drive travel package sales that will generate local income and help revitalise the Thai economy. The fam trip attracted 68 KOLs, media, entrepreneurs, and business representatives from Asia and South Pacific, with a focus on creating responsible tourism trends.

During the fam trip, participants engaged in various conservation activities, including coral restoration, mooring buoy repairs, marine debris collection, coral surveying, fish home construction, and tree planting. Moreover, they had the opportunity to craft jewellery from bottle waste and broken glass, make ‘CoCo Tie Dye Ko Tao’ fabric from coconut husks, create ‘ECO PRINT’ fabric with leaves, and turn plastic waste into new products with ‘Plas-Tao.’

Additionally, the fam trip featured the Ko Tao Green market, Mini Dive & Adventure Expo, island-style sports, and trying the delicious local cuisine.
